I have my anthem for the summer!  My man Asher Roth just dropped his newest video for Summertime directed by the homie Shomi Patwary of Illusive Media.  I love the video, it conveys exactly what the song is talking about, that summertime feel.  It was also good to see HB aka Hannah Bronfman getting her Summertime on in the video as well.  I was with Asher a couple days before the shoot and he was telling me about the video, so I’m really glad it turned out well and it is good to see great people like him and Shomi coming together to create.

This is what I truly respect about Pharrell, he takes his platform and he uses to do what is right and what is needed.   He values the importance of our youth, their education, and their future,  and more than the music I admire that.  Also to see Leland Melvin, a man of color and a NASA astronaut is truly inspiring because  in underrepresented communities those are not the role models seen, yet they need to be highlighted more often.  I must show love to my friend Shomi Patwary and the Illusive Media team on a nice video!  Great job for everyone involved!

My friend Shomi Patwary  of Illusive Media and director of Lupe Fiasco’s Beaming video put me onto a band a few months ago called Mansions on the Moon.   Once hearing the music I was a fan, and now I want to introduce them to you.  They are from Virginia Beach and are managed by Ben Baruch (also manages Big Gigantic) and Shae Haley of N.E.R.D. They are currently working on new music, to keep up with them follow them on their twitter.  They will be bombarding you with some undeniable music soon, which includes a mixtape with DJ Benzi and Diplo.   Here is a preview for you, The video above is their video for “She Makes Me Feel” and the video below is a snippet of them creating the song “Space To Breathe.”  Both these videos were directed by Shomi Patwari of Illusive media.
