Seed is an upcoming Sci-Fi film done by some of the most talented individuals I know.  It is written and directed by Tyson Wade Johnston, stars Justin Zachary who also was a writer, and is co-executive produced by Barron Boedecker.  These three are the types that see projects through, from conceptualization to finish product they are doers.  Honestly I want to work with these 3 badly and I know, well I hope I get to because I know I would be working on a project that would be amazing. Here is a synopsis of the film, look forward to it coming out in August 2012.

Set in the year 2071, where technology has brought mankind to the brink of colonization on a planet named Gaia, one man takes on an isolated mission and discovers unearthly horrors that could bring an end to life on this planet.

My great friend Brandon Cruz has put out his first episode of his new web show being on tour with Pac Div.  I must say this content is beautiful and compelling and his skill as film maker, documentarian, and story teller are precise.  For me to watch his success has been a thrill and recently I got this message from him that puts our friendship in perspective.

The homie Asher Roth has put out the official video for “Gotta Get Up” Off Asher Roth and Nottz’s Rawth EP. It features D.A. Wallach of Chester French. With a Big Lebowski theme Director Luke Tedaldi created what I think is a very visual and aesthetically pleasing video.  Congrats to Asher and his team, he truly is one of the genuine people in this industry, always a pleasure running into him and I look forward to our next interview.

This was a film I acted in that did very well and gave me some major opportunities. I played the part of Michael and I have to thank everyone I worked with on this! This film was played in many film festivals from California to New York, San Francisco to Beijing, including 3 that are consistently in Movie Maker Magazines Top 25 US film festivals. I play a character named Michael in the film, story line below.  It also features Lance Nichols who is in a lot of films including the Curious Case of Benjamin Button.  Brett Pawlak was the DP and he also shot a film that was the Best Short at Sundance 2 years ago entitled “Short Term 12.”  Randall Kirk you did a great job!  It was such a joy working on this film and I thank everyone who worked on it, enjoy watching it!!!

Synopsis: This story captures events transpiring over a few days in the life of a gentle hearted street musician named Robert. Robert lives a solitary existence and finds solace through only two things: first there is his trumpet, which has kept him company since childhood; second there is his increasingly frequent visits with Michael, the young drug dealer who befriends him. Through Michael, Robert gets the only real human connection available in his life. But human connection is not the only thing Robert wants from Michael. Robert must pay a dear price for the brief escape Michael sells and is forced to pawn the very emblem of his soul, the trumpet he has owned since childhood.

I’m a big fan of short films because I love the ability to tell a story, develop characters, and draw in an audience in a short time.  Ted Chung does this with his short films, he is a great story teller and I have a lot of respect for him as a director.  As an actor I would love to one day work with him.  This film is entitled On Time, it’s a film about decisions and the consequences that can come with them.

Currently in my collection I have Michael Jordan: Come Fly With Me, Michael Jordan’s Playground, Michael Jordan: Airtime, Michael Jordan to the Max, and when this comes to dvd I will have it as well, along with the 5 Jordan books I own, yea I love MJ.  As someone who grew up playing basketball almost my entire life up to the collegiate level he was someone I always looked up to.  Could I be Michael Jordan?  No, but his work ethic anyone could have and thats what I took from him, and that same work ethic I learned from all those hours  playing basketball are applicable in everything I do now, which includes my acting and my hosting.  This trailer looks amazing and I truly look forward to seeing this.  Below is a synopsis of the film.

I have been a fan of Ted Chung since I saw his first short A Thousand Words.  His ability to tell a compelling story in such a short amount of time is amazing.  This short film is called Mike’s. In this film a reclusive roommate realizes there’s more to life than he imagined.

I saw this short film A Thousand Words awhile ago.  When I first saw it I was in love with it!  As someone who acts I love that you can communicate so much in silence.  Director Ted Chung did an amazing job on this film and he is someone I hope to work with.

Right now there are a lot of great movies out, but the most important one is Waiting for Superman.  A film that explores  the American Public School System,  a system that is failing millions of young kids in this country.  As someone who is passionate about education and has friends on the forefront of this battle to improve it, I feel a deep concern about our failing public school system.  This film dives into the issues raised and explores the challenges, needs, and ways to improve education in America.  This is one of the most important films you can see, I encourage you to go watch the film, learn, and make a difference in any way you can.
