If I had a theme about my time thus far in New York City it would be coming across creative people. Another person who now is a friend is Flethcher Williams III. An artist from originally from Charleston, South Carolina now residing in Brooklyn, he is a creative in every sense of the word. He does art in many mediums, this selection of art is entitled Synthesis. Synthesis takes a dive into looking at grills, he departs from there function but dives into the form of them. Aesthetically it’s eye catching and some of my favorite art that I’ve seen. Check out more of Fletcher’s art here.

John Liwag presents THE CRFTY

My friend and creative John Liwag presents The CRFTY. John Liwag and I met last year and I have throughly been impressed by his presentation of all things cultural. Fashion, music, film, photography, art/design and well-made products, he documents it all and presents in a well rounded point of view. The CRFTY is an online magazine designed and curated by him. It is an informative magazine and more impressive is that it’s all him that is presenting it! While doing this he is also currently interning for Levi Maestro of Maestro Knows. “I still feel you”, New works by shannon bonatakis

Friend Shannon Bonatakis is currently showing her newest body of work entitled I Still Feel You in Chicago’s Rotofugi Gallery. The show opened on November 11th but is up until December 4th.

In the words of Rotofugi Gallery: “The highly stylized and emotionally charged portraits of Shannon Bonatakis hooked us the first time we laid eyes on one. We’re thrilled to be presenting the newest works of the Denver-based painter in a new exhibit entitled I Still Feel You.

Three amazing friends of mine and some of the most gifted creatives I know have come together once again to bring HelvitiNote 2.0. Art: “I open at the close” Harry Potter Piece by Shannon Bonatakis

With the final installment of the Harry Potter series coming to an end, My friend and amazing artist Shannon Bonatakis created a piece for the Harry Potter tribute exhibition at Gallery nucleus. The piece is entitled ” I open at the Close”, in speaking about this piece Shannon explains this is her “homage to the beautiful moments that transpire between Harry and his parents as he walks towards his final fate. Perhaps it is also my best attempt at saying “thank you” to J.K. Rowling for bringing such a special story into the world.” Another amazing piece by the super talented artist Shannon Bonatakis. By far one of my favorite artist out there! When I get my money right like Kanye I am going to commission her to do the biggest Shannon Bonatakis piece in my house! Deal Shannon?

Shannon Bonatakis “The Death of O-Ren Ishii”

Friend an AMAZING ARTIST Shannon Bonatakis recently finished a piece for the “Quentin vs. Coen” themed art show on April 7th through the 9th in New York City. The show is being put on by Spoke Art who did a Wes Anderson show last year, but it’s being hosted at Bold Hype Gallery. Shannon did a piece from one of my favorite scenes “The Death of O-Ren Ishii”, from one of my favorite movies Kill Bill. I’m always enthralled by her work, definitely one of my FAVORITE artists! All the best on your continued success Shannon. If you can make sure to get to Bold Hype Gallery as it is a pop up show and only happening for two days, it will be fun and feature some brilliant artists.

My friends/family over at Installation Shoe Gallery here in Bould-Air, Coloado recently created a new Installation for the space. The Installation is called Build -Up and was created by Richard Duff who came in from Brooklyn to do it. I like the simplicity and aesthetic of this one and by far has been one of my favorite installations created in the space. Check the video above! Great job fellas! This was shot and edited by my great friend Ryan Simpson, one of the most talented guys I know!

My great friend Steve Oemwenkhae shot a fresh short documentary about Annie Cubannie of Cubannie Links. Annie is a jewelry designer based of New York City and is definitely a creative and forward thinking designer. I have seen my friend and NYC DJ/MC Jasmine Solano frequent her jewelry. Cubannie Links have been featured in magazines such as XXL, Complex, Ocean Drive, and Vibe. Celebrities such as Keri Hilson, Rhianna, Alicia Keys, M.I.A., have been seen wearing Cubannie Links as well. Great job to Steve, check out his photography at www.mindlessphotos.com

Total Lunar Eclipse poster by Cypher 13

My great friends at Cypher 13 designed a poster to commemorate the Lunar Eclipse on happening on the morning of December 21st. VERY FRESH!

“Late this evening, North Americans will share a rare opportunity to witness a total lunar eclipse, and on the longest night of the year. This will be the first time a lunar eclipse has fallen on the winter solstice since 1638.

The Selby presents pharrell williams – at his home – miami

“Todd Selby is a portrait, interiors, and fashion photographer and illustrator. His project The Selby offers an insider’s view of creative individuals in their personal spaces with an artist’s eye for detail.”(Toddselby.com) In this recent edition he caught up with Pharrell Williams, take a look as Todd goes Pharrell’s Miami home and see his aesthetic influences including art from Kaws and Takashi Murakami as well as his own custom designs. Pharrell is definitely a renaissance man with great taste, but as you can you probably see within these pictures is that you can grow up but not lose the kid inside of you. Always stay young in heart and continue to always be curious.
