Outside the Arena: College sports bubble can warp values by kate fagan
Kate Fagan, a sports columnist for the Philadelphia Inquirer and a long time friend wrote a very poignant and inciteful column today about the Scandal at Penn State. Kate Fagan was a basketball player in 1999-2004 at the University of Colorado. It was at this time that CU’s footbal program was under fire for violating NCAA rules for using sex as a recruting tool. In the article Kate reflects on her mindset at the time of the scandal at CU, and in this reflection explains how values and morals can be lost. In an honest, clear, and vulnerable way she navigates a story of how and why something like this can happen on college campuses , and how college athletics can, as she states warp our values.
